Happy birthday to our one and only child! To everyone who has made comments, rated the game, shown it to friends, talked about and recommended it, and everything else, thank you so much!! It is truly touching that such a small game has had such a big impact on our lives and other people’s, and it always kept us so motivated to work on the game when we had the chance. It’s mind-boggling to think that after two long years, people are still playing and enjoying what we made over a weekend together.

The last two years have been mega busy for both of us, and the pandemic sure didn’t make it any easier! While a little bit of progress was made post-release, we had far too much on our plates due to our university courses to actually work on the game (final year kicked our asses hard but we made it 🎉). We finished uni this year though, and Lookouts has been our main focus since about August. We’ve made a ton of progress we’re really proud of and this long time coming update is shaping up well. If you read or remember the posts we made before, we talked about how the current version of Lookouts is a tiny slice of what we originally had planned.

It’s with great pleasure we finally feel ready to announce that Lookouts will have a mega-update in early 2022 with a bunch of new art, new characters, a kick-ass original soundtrack from Jamie (@fakegamercomics on twitter and also itchio!) and a new playtime of what’s looking to be about 4-5 hours(?!) of story.

It’s a massive improvement on the small slice currently available and we are really happy that we’ve been able to make the story we had always planned.

It’ll be free to play still after the update, BUT we will also be selling a Super Special Edition (name not final lol) for any cool cowboys who have the means to support our fruity little endeavours! This extra edition will get you a digital behind the scenes booklet, additional art (like hi-rez backgrounds, screensavers, original mini-comics) and a copy of the soundtrack (and maybe more stuff if we think of it)!

We hope if you enjoyed the demo, you’ll join us again in the new year for the full release! We’ll have more update posts closer to the time to let y’all know the definite release date and whatnot.
